Before you know it, it's gone.

These carnations stood in my studio for a while. While I was painting them, they were already changing. I didn't want to paint them exactly as they looked, but as they felt.

Built up with thick layers of paint, touches of color, texture and movement, the painting reflects the fleeting nature of the flowers. Not perfectly sharp, because nothing is.

A work that isn't only about flowers, but about appreciating what is here while it's here.
