"I have a photo of Bob Marley that I think would make a beautiful painting."

That was the message I received from Denzel Hall, and I immediately knew: "I’m sure of that." We had a call to discuss his wishes and I gave advice on the size and colors that would work well with his interior.

I created a concept and a color palette which he enthusiastically responded to. Then I went in search of the perfect piece of wood for this project.

Using various materials and techniques, I built up the portrait and the background, sending updates along the way.

I personally delivered the portrait to his home, which is always a special experience. You get to see the artwork in the space where it belongs. The interior is calm, allowing the artwork to stand out right away, yet it still looks peaceful due to the black and white tones in the piece. It blends beautifully with the surroundings.
